Entertainers showcase their talents on a Wednesday night!

Entertainers showcase their talents on a Wednesday night!

A couple of weeks ago I went out to see what was buzzing on a Wednesday night here in 'Funky Nassau'. Well you know, quarantine is somewhat lifted, and the economy is growing, sorta, kinda? In any event it's a good time to network as there is seems to be a surge of entertainment and activity. I have noticed interestingly enough that no matter where I am in the world, Wednesday nights  tend to be reserved for talent showcases and open mic's. A night seasoned artists, and new talent come together to display their creations. I guess as an artist I too felt the same urge.

After seeing a number of flyers and some solid performance clips circulating on social media, I made my way to K.C.L Entertainment's spoken word and poetry night at Studio Cafe West Bay St. This was my first stop as to allow Superstar Wednesday's, the later event to build steam, while tuning into some artistic expression. The poets were really good and the event is well put together! We connected with the organiser Kay from K.C.L. Entertainment Company briefly before leaving to congratulate and wish them well. Perfoming that night was Mathew, Frankie and Stevie. I arrived as Mathew was making a connection with the audience. A young poet, he was open honest, passionate, funny and introspective. He had a smooth delivery style and his word play was witty. Before leaving he even received a playful cheer from a lady in the crowd obviously moved by his words, as he spoke about wanting reciprocal love.

As the night progressed I made my way Gladstone Rd. to the Hooka Lounge for Superstar Wednesday's. Here we linked up with Tan Jay and Young Blood Records. There were electrifying performances by Lil Deek, Shad Fer and Chairo The Fox, plus a freestyle battle with Rezi. These were just a few of the acts that evening. I was grateful to have a moment to connect with organisers Tan Jay & her son musical producer Pyn Jay of Young Blood Hot Records. Overall it was an inspiring evening of new music, good vibes, networking and creativity.

  3. I had the pleasure of working with TanJ and her son PynJ (Justin). Justin is a very talented artist and producer, so is his mother. She is very motivating and encourages us as artists to put in the time, the work, and strive to achieve better, to put our talents to use. I can definitely vouche for the both of them!!! Good people!!!
